Prepare the Glass
- Run a lemon wedge around the rim of a rocks glass. Dip the rim into granulated sugar on a plate until heavily coated.
Mix the Cocktail
- In a shaker, muddle 8 blackberries with simple syrup until broken into fragments but not pulverized.
- Add gin and lemon juice to the shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 12 seconds until the shaker is frosted.
- Place clear ice cubes in the rimmed glass. Strain the cocktail into the glass, allowing some blackberry fragments to pass through.
Final Touches
- Tuck a lemon wheel into the side. Top the ice with 2 whole blackberries and a fresh pine sprig.
