- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly across the bottom of the dish, followed by the chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the peanut butter for 30-45 seconds until smooth and pourable. Drizzle evenly over the candy layer.
- Sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix evenly over the peanut butter layer.
- Pour the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible. Do not stir.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the top is set and the edges are bubbly.
- Let the cake cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
