- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat until the beef is browned. Drain off excess grease.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper.
- Gently stir in the drained green beans and 2/3 cup of the french fried onions.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Top with the shredded cheddar cheese and the remaining 2/3 cup of french fried onions.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the casserole is hot and bubbly. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Make-Ahead Tip: Assemble the casserole without the cheese and onion topping up to 24 hours in advance. Cover and refrigerate. Add toppings just before baking and add 10-15 minutes to the bake time.
