Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once shimmering, place the salmon fillets skin-side up and sear for 4-6 minutes, until golden and crispy. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Remove salmon from the skillet. Reduce heat to medium, add the butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in lemon juice and broth, scraping the bottom of the pan. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce.
- Return the salmon to the skillet. Spoon the sauce over the fillets and cook for another minute. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Tip 1: Ensure salmon is fully patted dry before seasoning. This is the key to getting a perfectly crispy skin.
Tip 2: Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best flavor. The bottled kind just won't taste the same!
Tip 3: Don't overcrowd the pan. Cook the salmon in batches if necessary to ensure each fillet gets a great sear.
