Instructions
- Make the Strawberry Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries break down and the sauce thickens. Set aside.
- Warm the Milk: In a separate, medium saucepan, heat the milk over medium-low heat until warm and steaming. Do not let it boil.
- Melt the Chocolate: Reduce the heat to low, add the chopped white chocolate and the pinch of salt to the warm milk. Whisk constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Combine and Serve: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of the strawberry sauce into the white hot chocolate and whisk to combine. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, if desired.
Notes
For an extra smooth hot chocolate, you can strain the strawberry sauce through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds.
Adjust the amount of strawberry sauce to your liking for a more or less intense strawberry flavor.
