- In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Heat over medium until dissolved. Remove from heat, stir in 1/4 cup lemon juice, and let cool.
- Whip 1.5 cups heavy cream and 3/4 cup powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Beat mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in the whipped cream gently until uniform and white.
- Quickly dip ladyfingers into cooled lemon syrup for one second per side. Arrange tightly in the bottom of an 8x8-inch pan.
- Spread half the mascarpone cream flat over the ladyfingers. Gently spread the 1.5 cups of vibrant yellow lemon curd evenly over the cream.
- Dip remaining ladyfingers and layer over the lemon curd. Top with remaining mascarpone cream, smooth perfectly flat, and chill for 6 to 8 hours.
- Whip the remaining 1 cup heavy cream with 1/4 cup powdered sugar to stiff peaks. Pipe elegant swirls on top and garnish with thin lemon slices.
